Good stuff from the Design community.
09/12/08 :: Posted by RobI just thought seems as though my peers across the design community are posting such wonderful information, I should show them some appreciation and throw some links out there! So here is a round-up of recent goings on from the design community…
Ok lets kick off with what I think is a real asset to my work:
Lost and Taken is an awesome texture resource site which is powered by a guy with a real passion for supplying the design community with high quality textures! With a recent image refresh, Caleb Kimbrough and his texture resource will hopefully go from strength to strength! Recent posts of interest include:
First reader submitted textures! And they are beautiful. Created by Christy Sobolewski, they make me want to crack open photoshop and get a new WP
template made
Again we have the unconditional giving of free stuff with a recent visit to a back ally bin by Caleb.
The interweb design community is full of yanks… so us brits have to stick together sometimes, especially when we are from the northern (and better) half of England. So I introduce to you Design Shard’s Max Stanworth.
Design shard offers some detailed and enlightening video tutorials, along with inspirational resources and other goodies!
Some recent gold from Max:
Batch image processing in Photoshop, video tutorial. Something that not covered too often, but often needed.
Also community based information and posts, like this excellent one about blog exposure by Blake from http://www.youdesignit.com.
Yes yes, I know, I’m obsessed… but I’m obsessed about CSS as well so hey. I have to tip my hat to Chris from CSS Tricks though as I don’t really understand how he has time for normal life. Having a full time job, which seems to keep him busy, he still finds time to pass on his experience on to the rest of the design community. He has reached #45 of his Screencast tutorials, all of which are invaluable resources set to teach you at least something.
Recent screencast about foxy cart, and how to implement it in your site.
Also great post about jQuery outgoing click catching. Working with Google Analytics to catch those stats. I need to get more jQuery in my life!
I shall be posting more from the people who make the design community such an educational and inspirational joy to be in.
